I. PREAMBLE
Baptists have produced several doctrinal statements or confessions, three of which are worthy of note. The Second London Baptist Confession (1) was produced and published in 1689, taking much from The Westminster Confession, excepting those doctrines peculiar to Baptists. In America, The Philadelphia Baptist Confession, (Printed and published in 1742), and virtually a copy of The Second London Baptist Confession, was the doctrinal statement of most early Baptists on our continent. We fully agree with both of these Confessions.
The Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (2) is the current doctrinal statement of the Southern Baptist Convention, of which we are in friendly agreement. But to further and more fully define the doctrine of our congregation, Arbor Heights Bible Church has adopted the following doctrinal statement as our own confession.
